Riverway, Stafford

Project Management

The development in Stafford on Riverway is an 80-unit general needs apartment scheme targeted at the over-55s. Comprising of a mixture of 1-bed and 2-bed flats, the scheme contains a communal lounge area and shared gardens. Juliet balconies and bolt-on balconies are featured on the upper floor apartments of the 4-storey building. Stafford and Rural Homes are the client and this project is being delivered during a period where their merger with Housing Plus Group is underway. PDW are project managing the scheme. All the dwellings will be let at an affordable rent, with funding from Homes England secured. The project is being built by Barnfield Construction Limited.

The project aims to incorporate features that give residents their independence whilst providing essential facilities to those which require certain elements of care, such as a buggy storage space. There will be electric vehicle charging points at some of the parking spaces with provision to include more chargers in the future to suit demand. Having a communal lounge that includes a small kitchen lends itself to allow residents to choose events and activities they wish to organise. With a target completion of Autumn 2020, this ‘independent living’ development is currently on site and progressing.
