Project Management

The project will see a 78-apartment Extra Care facility built off Woodpecker Close in Upton, Wirral, for the over-55s. The scheme will be made up of 60 one-bed and 18 two-bed units designed to offer 24-hour care and support on site for residents. Built within the development will also be a bistro and hair salon, as well as a spa / wellbeing suite and communal lounge for residents. The development has a buggy store and a cycle store as well as a large car park with 59 spaces. All the dwellings will be let at an affordable rent, with funding from Homes England secured. Funding has also been provided by the local authority, Wirral Council.

PDW are Project Managing this development on behalf of Alpha Living. When the development is complete, Alpha will relocate their head office to the site as the building also incorporates an open plan office, a boardroom and a hub space along with a kitchen / breakout area for staff. The gardens have been designed to create a quiet contained sanctuary for residents to encourage socialising and wellbeing. The design provides a series of gardens with a central formal lawn, a raised bed growing area and a wildlife sensory garden. With a target completion of Winter 2020, this development is currently on site and progressing well with Vistry Partnerships Ltd.
